WORK FOR THE DOLE, WORKING IN BOOTHBY

Communities in Westbourne Park, Daw Park, Seaview Downs, Warradale, Oaklands Park, Seacombe Gardens, Brighton and Hove will benefit from 12 new Work for the Dole projects within Boothby, the Federal Member for Boothby, Dr Andrew Southcott MP said today.

“The projects cover a wide range of disciplines and skills and will provide an excellent grounding for further employment for those undertaking them,” Dr Southcott said.

“Work for the Dole provides unemployed people with work experience which involves teamwork and initiative by the participants.

“The participants are supervised by local people who work hard to see that their needs are met and that they succeed.

“With projects and activities ranging from catering and hospitality, to landscaping and shelter construction for playgrounds, to IT support and home improvements for the aged, there are so many valuable skills to be learned.”

Dr Southcott said 504 projects across Australia have been approved by the Employment Services Minister Mal Brough, providing valuable work experience opportunities for 7018 job seekers.
