Notes The electronic version of this title was produced as part of a digitisation project to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Parliament House, 2013. The project encompassed material held in the Parliamentary Library relating to the establishment of the Federal Capital, the development of the Parliamentary precinct and both Parliament Houses, and the life of Parliament House.
Abstract Contains programs, invitations, entree cards and other associated souvenirs from events to commemorate the inauguration of the Commonwealth of Australia, in Sydney in the first week of January, 1901. Also contains items from other 1901 events and functions associated with a Royal visit by The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York in May 1901, to open the first Parliament of the Commonwealth of Australia in Melbourne, on Thursday 9th May 1901, and the official directory of invited guests for the opening.
