7 PRESENTATION OF THE SPEAKER
Mr Morrison (Prime Minister) stated that he had ascertained it would be His Excellency the Governor-General’s pleasure to receive the Speaker in the Members’ Hall following the resumption of the sitting at 2.40 pm.
And the sitting of the House having been suspended at 11.49 am until 2.40 pm—
The Speaker reported that he had presented himself to His Excellency the Governor-General as the choice of the House of Representatives as its Speaker and that His Excellency had been kind enough to congratulate him.
