Labor’s lies sink to new lows

Labor’s lies have sunk to a new low as the party attempts to scaremonger over the Coalition’s commitment to build Hummingbird House, Queensland’s only dedicated children’s respite and hospice facility.

The Coalition committed to this wonderful project in July and our commitment is unwavering.

It was the Coalition that brought the Queensland Government, the charity Queensland Kids and St Vincent’s Private Hospital together to make the announcement and, if elected, we will make this dream a reality.

Kevin Rudd reluctantly matched our commitment to Hummingbird House via press release.

I find it absolutely disheartening that Kevin Rudd would seek to scare families as part of a baseless fear campaign designed to help him retain his own seat.

There are now 3,700 children in Queensland who are affected by life limiting conditions in which it is likely that the child will die before the age of 18.

The $5.5 million the Coalition has committed to this project is fully accounted for in the Budget’s bottom line.

We have also committed $2 million for Bear House, the only children’s hospice in New South Wales.

I find it despicable that the Labor Party is spreading these lies to scare people. This is yet another Labor lie designed to scare people into voting for Kevin Rudd.
