CHRIS PEARCE MP Federal Member for Aston

Media Release

Local parents and others in the Aston community are invited to give their thoughts, views and opinions on what really matters in schools in Australia to help develop national policies for schooling, Aston MP Chris Pearce announced today.

Mr Pearce said that the Howard Government has released a discussion paper, Taking schools to the next level - the national education framework for schools, as part of a national consultation process.

The discussion paper raises the key issues being considered including the reporting process to parents, how parents and schools can better work together to keep our children safe and healthy, and how schools can better meet the needs of Australian families.

“Quality schooling is a top priority for government and parents - and parents can make a difference to the education of their children by being involved. This debate provides an opportunity for parents to help shape that involvement in the future”, Mr Pearce said.

Mr Pearce said that everyone in the local community that was interested in the performance of our schools was invited to offer their views on a range of important schooling issues.
