T im Fischer mp Federal Member for Farrer

Leader of the National Party of Australia

Shadow Minister for Energy and Resources

If Canberra cannot guarantee the delivery of the Budget Papers properly in Parliament House on Tuesday then clearly the Trades and Labour Council's picketing has got out of hand.

Federal Leader o f the National Party Tim Fischer says forget about the food deliveries or the garbage clearance for the time being, the real question is the proper working o f Parliament particularly on Budget day!

"The Presiding Officers and the Government are always keen to point out their expertise on industrial relations matters and so should therefore act strongly and responsibly in this matter.

Mr Fischer said in the very unlikely event the Budget could not proceed in Canberra on Tuesday, then the magnificent convention facilities in the City of Albury are in readiness for a temporary sitting of Parliament!

For further information phone Mr Fischer on 06 253 2318 (Evening onwards) or 06 277

Foot Note: When the hunt was on for a suitable site for the Nation's Capital City, Albury was within a whisker of being selected. However on the day the selection committee visited, there was a howling Riverina dust storm.

Today's Mayor of Albury, Alderman Les Langford guarantees no dust storms next Tuesday but plenty of space for the Mace and the Black Rod!
