Greens Top Environment Poll

Greens Senator Bob Brown is delighted that his party is a clear winner in the environment groups’ report card issued this morning and has pledged to do even more during the election campaign to protect Australia’s environment.

“The Howard Government is the worst performed on the environment for decades. Forest destruction is at record levels. We have the world’s worst per capita greenhouse gas emissions. Urban pollution, land clearing and salinity are enormous problems. John Howard is an environmental ignoramus.

“For those suffering fear of the future we Greens are the antidote.

“I am especially pleased that the Greens role in advocating Australian issues like the Jabiluka uranium mine, Tasmanian’s tall forests, and NSW koala habitat, has been recognised alongside our work on international issues like global warming and Tibet, as the best of all the parties”, Senator Brown said.

“But the Greens want to do more and we will be using our preference leverage during the election to extract the best possible social and environmental outcomes for the electorate”, Senator Brown said.
