Tuckey Investigation Concludes

Federal Justice Minister Chris Ellison today announced that the Australian Federal Police had concluded its investigation into alleged misuse of travel entitlements by the Hon Wilson Tuckey MP.

Following its extensive inquiries into the matter the AFP forwarded material to the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP) in December 2001.

The CDPP has now advised the AFP that the matter not be further proceeded with because there is insufficient evidence to establish the commission of a criminal offence by any party and that any further investigation would not bear any further fruit.

The AFP has decided to conclude its investigation.
