11 Aston students awarded Australian Students Prize

Aston MP Chris Pearce today congratulated eleven students in Aston on receiving the Australian Students Prize, in recognition of their academic achievement in 2002.

Mr Pearce said the Australian Students Prize was designed to give national recognition to academic excellence and achievement in secondary education, particularly in the senior secondary years.

The Prize comprises a certificate and a payment of $2000.

500 Australian Students Prizes are available nationally each year, allocated between the States and Territories based on their relative share of the Year 12 population.

The Aston recipients were Douglas Chan of Wantirna, Anis Hamid of Rowville, Hui-Chen Han of Scoresby, Drew Heard of Wantirna South, Andrew Kwok of Wantirna, Tiffany Kwok of Wantirna, Levona Lavi of Vermont, Andy Lim of Wantirna, Edwina Lorbach of Vermont South, Jayne Moxey of Wantirna, and Emma Tomasich of Wantirna.

“I would like to congratulate the students on their tremendous achievement, and wish them continued success in their future endeavours”, Mr Pearce said.
