Minter Ellison appointed Legal Advisor to Access Card

The Office of Access Card has appointed law firm, Minter Ellison, as legal advisor for the implementation of the new health and social services access card system.

The firm has extensive experience in commercial law, with skills in the areas of technology, procurement, intellectual property, fraud, regulatory issues, protective security, contract negotiation, service delivery and project implementation.”

Chief Executive of Minter Ellison, Mr Guy Templeton, said the firm was assigning specialist lawyers from Australia and overseas to work with the Office of Access Card.

“Minter Ellison's team draws upon its experience in providing legal services to the Commonwealth and from working on a large number of significant technology projects, including card projects, in Australia and Hong Kong,” Mr Templeton said.

"The team will be led by Oliver Barrett, Partner and Head of Minter Ellison's Technology practice and draws additional support from major international law firm, Herbert Smith LLP.

“Team members include Russell Miller AM, Partner with Minter Ellison and Christopher Rees, Partner with Herbert Smith LLP.”
