The Hon Bob Baldwin MP Federal Member for Paterson

Paterson MP Bob Baldwin has welcomed $19,439 in funding to five local ex-service organisations from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs’ Building Excellence in Support and Training (BEST) program.

Mr Baldwin said the grants provide much-needed financial support and resources to the ex-service practitioners for pension and welfare work to assist veterans’, war widows and widowers.

“Through the BEST program, ex-service organisations are able to obtain equipment they need to provide quality service to our veteran community,” he said.

“Pension and welfare officers provide much needed support to veterans, war widows and widowers and current and former Defence members when lodging claims with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.”

The following organisations have received grants:

Gloucester RSL Sub-branch $1,747 Laptop with extended warranty and a multifunction printer.

Nelson Bay RSL Sub-branch $2,090 Desktop computer, filing cabinet, computer desk and chair

Forster Tuncurry RSL Sub-branch $6,307 Two laptop computers, internet access, software, conference phones,

printers, shredders, memory sticks

Dungog RSL Sub-branch $4,632 Laptop computer, desktop computer, internet access, computer chairs, filing cabinet, desk, bookcase and computer software

Port Stephens Legacy $4,663 Two laptop computers and a multifunction printer
