Ross Adler to join Austrade Board

Trade Minister, Mark Vaile, today announced the appointment of Norman Ross Adler AO to the Board of the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) for a three-year term.

Mr Adler, who also sits on the Telstra and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia boards, holds a commerce degree from Melbourne University and an MBA from New York’s Columbia University

“I welcome Mr Adler’s appointment.  He will bring a wealth of senior business management experience to the Austrade Board,” Mr Vaile said.

Mr Adler recently retired as Managing Director of Santos Limited, Australia’s largest on-shore oil and gas company, a position he held since 1984.

From 1975 to 1984 Mr Adler was Managing Director of Brown & Dureau Limited, at that time one of Australia’s principal merchant traders.   Brown & Dureau Limited was sold to Australian Paper Manufacturers Limited (now Amcor Limited) in late 1978.   From 1979 to 1984 he helped steer Australian Paper Manufacturers Limited on its path to international success.
