“I am proud to announce funding has been provided for 10 places available immediately to Kurrajong Waratah supported employment,” The Nationals Member for Riverina, Kay Hull, said today.

“This is not an election commitment. These jobs can be filled to commence employment from the 1 January 2008.

“This means that Kurrajong Waratah can now provide up to 152 jobs for people with disabilities in the region.

“We recently celebrated Kurrajong Waratah’s success throughout the last 50 years in the Wagga Wagga and surrounding district and their dedication to disabled people, their families and carers.

“I believe the support Kurrajong Waratah provides for people with disabilities in getting jobs and new skills is so important and I congratulate the staff on their commitment to providing more places and this outcome of funding.”

Mrs Hull said there have been a total of 500 places offered nationally at a total funding amount of $25 million.

Mrs Hull said the decision is part of the Prime Minister’s announcement in June of $1.8 billion of new funding in disability support.
