The Department of Education and Science, Canberra, advises that the Swiss Government is offering three Scholarships to Australians for postgraduate studies at a university in Switzerland during 1971-72.

The Scholarships, which are normally awarded for a period of one academic year, are open to students under the age of 35, who have graduated or who are at least in the final year of courses at universities.

There is no restriction on fields of study, though studies in the fields of music and fine arts are not provided for by this Scholarship program. A good knowledge of either French or German is essential.

Under the terms of the Scholarship, allowances ranging from approximately $Al25 to $A150 per month are made to Scholarship holders, together with a small textbook allowance and exemption from lecture fees. Students are usually expected to pay their own fares to Switzerland, the

fare back to Australia being paid by the Swiss Government.
