In conjunction with the Commonwealth Government's

program of assistance for secondary school libraries, the Department of Education and Science is orgenisiflg a short library in-service training course to be held in Canberra from 1--3 1ay.

Sir Hugh Ennor, Secretary of the Department will open the course at 8.00 p.m. on Friday 1 May.

The course will be concerned with the organisation of books and materials used in school libraries. Many items of educational equipment have been made available by firms and these will Give those attending an intro-

duction to the concept of audio-- visua.l materials and equipment in schools and libraries.

Lecturers fo r the course will come from the A.C.T.,

South Australia. Victoria and New South Wales.

The forty participants include school principals,
