PRESS RELEASE (for immediate release)


The Department of Education and Science has advised

that the Government of Thailand, under its U.N.E.S.C.O. program,

is offering six research fellowships and four scholarships in

1970 to non-Thai students in other countries.

Fellowships are tenable at a Thai university or at the

International Institute for Child Study for a period of one year.

There is no age limit for applicants for the fellowships, which are intended for mature persons who are of scholarly or pro-fessional status in their field. The value of the fellowships is approximately $A600. A command of the Thai language is desirable

although not essential.

Applicants for the scholarships should not be over 30 years of age and should have reached at least university matri-culation standard. The scholarships are tenable at a Thai univer-sity or at the College of Education and an adequate knowledge of

the Thai language is necessary. The scholarship's value is approximately $SA520 p.a. and it is tenable for the duration of the degree subject to the scholar's satisfactory progress.
