Australian Export Awards to be launched in Sydney

Trade Minister Mark Vaile will officially launch the 42 nd Australian Export Awards on Thursday, 26 May 2005 in Sydney.

The Australian Export Awards are one of the longest-standing and most prestigious business industry awards in Australia and aim to recognise the nation's leading and innovative exporting businesses. The Australian Export Awards have helped open doors for many emerging and established exporters.

From manufacturing to mining, agribusiness to the arts, tourism and education, businesses across all industries, regardless of size or location will be acknowledged this year as

“export champions'.

The 2004 DHL ‘Australian Exporter of the Year', Casella Estate Wines will be inducted into the Australian Export Awards Hall of Fame during the event.

Austrade and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) are the joint presenters of the national awards.

The Australian Export Awards program this year will progress through Export Award programs at State and Territory level and culminate in a gala Australian Export Awards dinner in Sydney on Thursday, 1 December when State and Territory winners will compete for national recognition as the ‘best of the best'.

The Australian Export Awards are proudly supported by leading businesses, notably DHL Australia, which has sponsored the Australian Exporter of the Year Award every year since the award was established in 1992, and the Commonwealth Bank, which has been a major sponsor of the awards continuously since 1987.
