PARLIAMENT HOUSE, CANBERRA

WEDNESDAY 12 SEPTEMBER 2018

SUBJECT/S: Liberal Party’s division and chaos

SENATOR DOUG CAMERON, SHADOW MINISTER FOR HOUSING AND

HOMELESSNESS, SHADOW MINISTER FOR SKILLS, TAFE AND

APPRENTICESHIPS: Good morning. Well the Muppet show continues and I

think it is going to have a longer run than the real Muppet show.

This is a government that is completely out of touch.

This is a government that is consumed by internal division.

This is a government that can’t concentrate on the key issues for the Australian

public. How do you deal with the problems in health? How do you deal with the

problems in education? How do you make sure young people get access to jobs?

How do we deal with the chaos in the VET system in this country?

None of these issues are being dealt with properly by this government.

And now we see this new Prime Minister, this illegitimate Prime Minister in my

view, simply ignoring the bullying of women in his own party. Not having the guts to

stand up and defend women in his own party.

Continuing to attack public servants who are making complaints against the

government.

Continuing to simply promote bad economic policy. Policy that means bad

outcomes for the Australian public.

This is a government in chaos, a government that doesn’t get it, a government that

should be going to the polls and allowing the Australian people to make a decision

about who they want as their Prime Minister and who they want to lead this

country.

And I have to say to you it has to be Labor government in the future. A government

that is united, a government that knows what the issues are for Australian people

and a government who will not behave like Muppets.
