Senator MULVIHILL (NEW SOUTH WALES) - I direct a question to the Minister representing the Minister for Labor and Immigration. In the face of the reluctance of some employers to include service in Vietnam as part of a person's employment when assessing long service leave entitlements, will the Minister seek an early ruling from the Minister for Labor and Immigration which will provide guidelines for such workers who served in Vietnam, many of whom were conscripted to do so, as to their entitlements under both Commonwealth and State awards?

Senator BISHOP -I will take the question forward. I think that it affects more than the Minister for Labor and Immigration. Anyway, I will try to obtain an answer for Senator Mulvihill before the Senate rises this week.
