Senator COTTON (NEW SOUTH WALES) - My question is addressed to the Minister representing the Treasurer. Is it a fact that the Government has belatedly taken up a further recommendation of the Opposition and decided to make a substantial reduction in taxation? Is it not further a fact that had the Opposition's full economic advice been taken as it was given many months ago the Australian economy would not be in its current state of shock, growing inflation and lack of confidence, with the consequence of distressing and rising unemployment?

Senator WRIEDT (TASMANIA) (Minister for Agriculture) -I ask the honourable senator to place the question on notice so that it may be referred to the Treasurer.
