Senator MULVIHILL (NEW SOUTH WALES) -Will the Minister representing the Minister for Labor and Immigration institute early discussions with State immigration ministers to ensure that in the case of Queensland we do not have a repetition of the conning of Canadian nurses as regards Australian recognition of their qualifications and, in the case of New South Wales, we seek an explanation of a repudiation by Jago the unready of his assurance to me 2 years ago that all New South Wales hospitals would have interpreter services? This duplicity of the Askin Government was illustrated in yesterday's 'Onlooker' column.

Senator BISHOP (SOUTH AUSTRALIA) (Postmaster-General) - I can only undertake to draw to the attention of the Minister for Labor and Immigration the references made by Senator Mulvihill. I will let the honourable senator know when I have some precise information.
