Senator SIM (WESTERN AUSTRALIA) - I ask the Minister representing the Minister for Labor and Immigration: What restrictions have been placed on the political activities of a Mr Curtis, who entered Australia illegally from South Africa, while his application for political asylum is being considered? Does the Government permit persons awaiting a decision on an application for political asylum to engage in controversial political activities, particularly of a domestic nature? If not, has Mr Curtis been warned to refrain from further political activities? What is the present position regarding Mr Curtis 's application?

Senator BISHOP - I do not have any information in relation to the gentleman referred to by Senator Sim. Had he let me know earlier today that he intended to ask the question I could have got some information. I will get it and forward it to him.
