Reference to Standing Committee on Social Environment

Motion (by Senator Davidson) agreed to:

That there be referred to the Standing Committee on Social Environment the following matter-

The effects of the development in Australia of new inland cities, with large populations, and in particular-

(a)   the consequences flowing from the demands placed upon waters inland used for industrial and domestic water supplies in those cities; and

(b)   the steps which ought to be considered and taken for the proper management and control of such waters to prevent and control any ensuing pollution.
