Senator MAUNSELL (QUEENSLAND) - I direct my question to the Minister representing the Minister for Overseas Trade. How significant is devaluation in terms of the conditions laid down by the trade unions for wage restraint agreement? Are the unions sceptical despite yesterday's statement by the Minister for Overseas Trade that devaluation would meet the unions' demands and further protection for industry would not be necessary?

Senator WRIEDT - I have not seen the statement by the trade unions which was referred to by Senator Maunsell. I do not know what they said. I will have to refer the question to the Minister for Overseas Trade.
