Senator TOWNLEY (TASMANIA) -Is the Minister representing the Minister for Repatriation aware that there is considerable dissatisfaction amongst the ex-servicemen in the seriously disabled category- that is with 75 per cent to 100 per cent assessed disability- and in receipt of the special compensation allowance, who effectively received no increase in their repatriation pensions in the last Budget? Will the Minister reconsider the withdrawal of the $3 special compensation allowance which appears as unfair discrimination against these men and their families?

Senator MURPHY - I appreciate the honourable senator's point, but I am not able to deal with the matter myself in the absence of Senator Bishop. However, I will pass this request along and endeavour to obtain an answer for the honourable senator and consideration of the matter which he raises.
