Senator TOWNLEY (TASMANIA) - I ask the Minister representing the Minister for Defence whether it is true that a decision has already been made to site the proposed Omega base in Tasmania and that it is to be built in the south-eastern part of that State? If this is not so, will the Government be prepared to present all the facts both for and against the Omega installation to the people of Tasmania and allow them to decide whether this foreign based installation should be built on their soil?

The PRESIDENT - Order! This is already the subject of a reference to a committee of the Parliament.

Senator TOWNLEY - I am sorry; I did not realise that.
