Senator MULVIHILL - I direct a question to the Minister for Works in his dual capacity as representing the Minister for Labour and National Service and the Minster for Foreign Affairs. In view of the repeated agitation of maritime unions for Australia to become a signatory to the

Refugee Seamen's Convention will the Minister indicate when his earlier term 'on the verge' will become a reality?

Senator WRIGHT - When Senator Mulvihill uses such flights of fancy as his finishing phrase this usually give me a little time to pause.. But I shall have to consult the records with regard to the Convention to which he refers and examine the stage consideration has reached. Then the words which have to be converted into reality may appear to me.
