Senator BISHOP (SOUTH AUSTRALIA) - My question is directed to the Minister for Air. Is it a fact that a Department of Defence report recommends a production run of 12 to 20 Project N aircraft? If so, does this indicate that orders have been received from (he

Services or other Commonwealth departments? When is it likely that an announcement about this aircraft will be made?

Senator DRAKE-BROCKMAN (WESTERN AUSTRALIA) (Minister for Air) - I was not aware that a Department of Defence announcement had been made. My understanding is that a committee working within the Department of Defence is making the final preparations prior to presenting to the Mnister for Defence a report for his examination. No doubt, in due course, having studied that report, the Minister for Defence will make a submission to Cabinet for its consideration.
