Senator GIETZELT - I ask Senator Cotton a question in his capacity as Minister representing the Minister for the Interior. Does the Minister agree that all citizens of the Commonwealth over the age of 21 years should be afforded a vote in the Federal elections? In these circumstances, what steps, if any, have been taken to enrol several thousand Aborigines in the Northern Territory so that they may participate in the forthcoming Federal elections?

Senator COTTON - When the honourable senator asks 'does the Minister agree', surely he is referring to the Minister for the Interior and not to me. I have my own views on the question of the voting age, but I have not been asked to give these. I will have to ask the responsible Minister for a full answer to the range of questions which the honourable senator has asked.
