Senator SAYERS (Queensland) . - I should like to know whether there is any intention to proceed with some of the works contained in this schedule. For instance, I notice £1,700 for a rifle range at Toowoomba. That amount was on the Estimates last year, and is now being revoted. There is also a sum of £[5,000 for a manoeuvre area at Beerburrum. That also was voted last year, and has not been spent. Of £[3,164 for a rifle range at Brisbane, £[1,164 is a re-vote, £[2,000 more being required. The same sort of thing applies to the Bundaberg rifle range. At Ennogera, £4,000 is to be spent on railway and tramway construction in connexion with the rifle range. Is it the intention of the Government to proceed with these works ? Surely they ought to be able to spend the money voted for such purposes within a year.
