Senator McDOUGALL (New South Wales) . - I did not intend to say very much about this item, but I think that after the Minister's speech we are entitled to say a little. He urges that it is a very small matter, but I know that dextrine is used by industries in Victoria, New South Wales, and other States. It is not right that every session manufacturers should be made to feel that the conduct of their business is being interfered with by threats of Tariff changes. In this ease the Government should have left well alone. If it is such a small matter as the Minister has stated, the best thing he can do is to drop the item.
