The PRESIDENT - Order! There was no answer given to the honorable senator's question.

Senator CHATAWAY - I am asking a question arising out of the reply, sir.

The PRESIDENT - The honorable senator cannot ask a question arising out of what was merely a request that he should postpone his question to a future occasion.

Senator CHATAWAY - The Minister stated that the Department had no information on the subject, and asked me to postpone my question. I desire to know whether it is not a fact that the Department has information which I supplied at its request? I think, sir, that my question is perfectly in order as arising out of the Minister's answer.

Senator PEARCE - I ask that the question be postponed until Thursday.

Senator Givens - Where were the cheques refused payment ?

Senator Chataway - The Department knows.
