Mr Snedden asked the Minister for Transport, upon notice:

In relation to the shipbuilding responsibilities of his portfolio,

(a)   what vessels are on order or under construction,

(b)   where have the orders for the vessels been placed,

(c)   when are the vessels to be constructed,

(d)   what are the vessels in respect of which tenders have closed but no order placed, and

(e)   what vessels are on tender.

Mr Charles Jones - The answer to the honourable member's question is as follows: (a), (b) and (c): Vessels in excess of 200 gross tons on order or under construction as at 8 November 1973, the shipyards where the orders for these vessels have been placed and the construction period for each vessel are set out in the following table:



(d)   Vessels in respect of which tenders have closed but no order yet placed are as follows:


(e)   Vessels which are at present out to tender are as follows'
