Mr Giles asked the Treasurer, upon notice:

(1)   Is it the intention of the Government to allow donations to aid bodies, such as Community Aid Abroad, as tax deductions, as has been promised from time to time.

(2)   If not, is it the attitude of the Government that all wisdom in relation to aid direction is vested in the public, rather than the private, sector.

Mr Crean - The answer to the honourable member's question is as follows:

(1)   and (2) This matter will be further considered, along with other requests for taxation concessions, when the 1973-74 Budget is being prepared.
