Mr Lynch asked the Minister for Immigration, upon notice:

(1)   How many (a) interviewing officers, (b) technical advisers, (c) psychologists, and (d) educational officers, have been employed in each of Australia's migration offices overseas in each of the last ten calendar years.

(2)   What has been the percentage increase in the number of such people employed in each of those years.


Mr Grassby (RIVERINA, NEW SOUTH WALES) (Minister for Immigration) - The answer to the honourable member's question is as follows:

(1)   and (2) The information sought is not available by calendar years. The accompanying table gives the number of officers, at 30 June for each of the past 10 years, employed in each classification, and the annual percentage change of each classification.
