Mr WENTWORTH (Mackellar) - I wish to make a personal explanation.

Mr ACTING SPEAKER (Mr Scholes)Doesthe honourable member claim to have been misrepresented?

Mr WENTWORTH - Yes. Over the weekend the 'Sydney Morning Herald* represented that I was opposed to the Prices Justification Bill on the ground that it would be too drastic and effective. This is exactly the opposite of the truth. I support the principle of prices justification but I believe that the Bill will be ineffectual and naive. What I did say was that I was opposed to what I regarded as the sinister side purposes of this Bill which were not allowed to be debated because the Committee stage was not called on. I was hoping that the Senate would correct the omissions which we were forced to make. here.
