Mr SPEAKER - I have received a letter from the honourable member for Moreton (Mr Killen) proposing that a definite matter of public importance be submitted to the House for discussion, namely:

The shameful subordination of the Australian Government's obligations

(i)   to assert and protect the rights of Australian citizens in Yugoslavia;

(ii)   to obtain full information as to the Yugoslav Government's gaoling, trial and execution of 3 Australians; and

(iii)   to condemn the conduct of the Yugoslav Government, to the pursuit of undisclosed and secret policy objectives with the Yugoslav Government.

I call upon those members who approve of the proposed discussion to rise in their places. (More than the number of members required by the Standing Orders having risen in their places.)
