Mr Lynch asked the Minister for Immigra tion, upon notice:

(1)   What agreements with other countries have been made or amended since 4th December 1972 which affected Immigration.

(2)   What are the effects of these agreements.

Mr Grassby - The answer to the honourable member's question is as follows:

(1)   None. However, at a meeting of the Prime Ministers of Australia and New Zealand on 22nd January 1973 it was announced conjointly that citizens of each country and citizens of other Commonwealth countries who have resident status in either Australia or New Zealand should henceforth be able to travel between Australia and New Zealand for permanent or temporary stay without passports or visas.
