Mr STALEY (CHISHOLM, VICTORIA) - My question to the PostmasterGeneral is concerned with the quality of radio transmission in Australia. Can the Minister tell the House when the Broadcasting Control Board's report on the desirability of frequency modulation transmission will be tabled?

Sir ALAN HULME (PETRIE, QUEENSLAND) (Postmaster-General) - I know that many honourable members, including the honourable member for Chisholm, are interested in this matter. I have recently been in touch with the Board. This afternoon I hope to table the Board's report. There are some paragraphs in the Board's annual report which refer to what appears to be some delay in relation to this matter. However, the Board has many responsibilities and, in recent times, has had additional responsibilities. It is preparing a report on this subject but is not able to make it available at the moment.
