Mr FORDE (CAPRICORNIA, QUEENSLAND) (Minister for the Army) - I have not yet had time to read the current issue of Smith's Weekly, but I shall be glad to do so if the honorable member will lend me his copy. The complaints made will be fully investigated, and a reply furnished to the honorable member as soon as possible. The attitude of the Government in regard to the use of racecourses is that whenever they are found to be necessary for the accommodation or training of troops, they are taken over by the Army authorities. In all cases where the interests of racing and of the Army have conflicted, we have given preference to the Army.
