Mr STORRER (Bass) . - I intend to vote against the Government proposal, because I regard it as an interference with private enterprise. At the present time, there are a number of persons who obtain their livelihood by fishing. We have conducted many similar experiments in connexion with larger concerns - experiments which have proved absolute failures. I am not disposed to support a proposalto expend £8,000 in an enterprise which I feel sure will fail. Stronger evidence in its favour should be forthcoming to justify this vote.
