Mr FISHER (Wide Bay) .- I think that, before this clause is passed, the Minister should say, as nearly as it can be estimated, what expenditure the Government will be put to in administering the Bill. I think that we should know what we are likely to be called upon to pay for the meteorological service. I quite approve of the policy embodied in the Bill, because it is impossible for the States to carry on the work with the same efficiency and satisfactory results to the community that can be ensured under the administration of the Commonwealth.
