Mr JOHNSON - In view of the fact that many of the postmasters who are to be removed from their present offices are electoral officers for the divisions in which they are now stationed, will he arrange that they shall not be transferred until after the general election, in order to prevent a great disturbance of our electoral machinery. I understand that the carrying out of the classification is a matter for the Public Service Commissioner, but that the PostmasterGeneral can say whether removals shall be effected at once, or be postponed for a little while.

Mr AUSTIN CHAPMAN - The matter to which the honorable member refers has been brought under my notice. It has already received the careful consideration of the Commissioner, to whom it has been again referred.
