Mr DUGALD THOMSON (NORTH SYDNEY, NEW SOUTH WALES) - I think that the clause ought to be postponed. It is one of the most important clauses of the Bill, and we should not be asked to consider it when we haveN been wearied by the strain of a long sitting. It would be better to postpone this and other important clauses of the Bill, even though that should make it necessary that we should .sit after Christmas, because we might then escape the injury to the health of honorable members which must ensue if such demands as the present are made upon them. In view of the fact that no resistance was offered to the proposal to lengthen the sittings of the House, I have been very much surprised at the action taken by the Government.
