   14   Treasury Laws Amendment (Enhancing ASIC’s Capabilities) Bill 2018

Ms O’Dwyer (Minister for Revenue and Financial Services), pursuant to notice, presented a Bill for an Act to amend the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act 2001 in relation to competition in the financial system, to provide that ASIC is not a Statutory Agency, and to remove the requirement for ASIC to engage staff under the Public Service Act 1999 , and for related purposes.


Ms O’Dwyer presented an explanatory memorandum to the bill.

Ms O’Dwyer moved—That the bill be now read a second time.
