1. M eeting of Senate.—The Senate met at eleven a.m., pursuant to adjournment.—The Deputy-President (Senator T. C. Drake-Brockman) took the Chair.

3. Question.—A Question on notice was answered.
4. Papers.—The following Paper was presented, by Command of His Excellency the Governor-General— Commonwealth Scholarships Board—Annual Report for 1965. The following Papers were presented, pursuant to Statute— Poultry Industry Assistance Act—First Annual Report by the Minister on the operation o f the
Act, for year 1965-66. Science and Industry Research Act—Eighteenth Annual Report of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization, for year 1965-66.
5. H igh Commissioner (U nited K ingdom) Bill 1966.—Order of the Day read for the adjourned debate on the Question—That this Bill be now read a second time. Debate resumed. Question—put and passed. Bill read a second time. The Senate, according to Order, resolved itself into Committee for the consideration o f the Bill.

Bill, by leave, taken as a whole, and agreed to, after debate. Bill to be reported without amendment.
The Deputy-President resumed the Chair; and the Temporary Chairman of Committees (Senator Wood) reported accordingly. On the motion o f the Minister for Works (Senator Gorton) the Report from the Committee was adopted, and the Bill read a third time.
6. Queensland Beef C attle R oads A greement Bill 1966.—Order o f the Day read for the adjourned debate on the Question—That this Bill be now read a second time. Senator Dittmer moved an amendment, viz.—At end o f m otion add “ but the Senate is o f opinion that the Queensland Beef Cattle Roads Agreement should be further amended to provide that [approval on
behalf o f the Commonwealth o f works under the Agreement shall be given by the Minister for National Development ” . Debate ensued. Question—That the words proposed to be added be added—put. The Senate divided—

7. Printing Committee—F ourteenth R eport.— Senator Breen brought up the following Report from the Printing Committee— Fourteenth R eport.
