1. Meeting of Senate.—The Senate met at three p.m., pursuant to adjournment.—The President (Senator the Honorable A. M. McMullin) took the Chair.

2. PRAYERS. .

3. Death of Mr. T. J. Treloar, M.P.—The Minister for Shipping and Transport (Senator McLeay) referred to the death on Sunday last, 15th November, of Mr. T. J. Treloar, M.P., and moved, by leave— . '

That the Senate expresses its deep regret at the death of Mr. Thomas John Treloar, member of the House of Representatives for the Division of Gwydir, New South Wales, places on record its appreciation of his meritorious public service and tenders its sincere sympathy to his widow and members of his family in their bereavement. .

' And the motion having been seconded by the Leader of the Opposition (Senator McKenna), and supported by the Minister, for Repatriation (Senator Cooper)— · ■

" And all Senators present having risen, in silence— · Question—passed. ,

4. Adjournment as Mark of R espect.—The Minister for Shipping and Transport (Senator McLeay) moved—That, as a. mark of respect to the memory of the deceased Member, the Senate do now adjourn. . -

Question—put and passed. .

The Senate adjourned at seven minutes past three p.m. till to-morrow at eleven a.m.

5. Attendance.—Present, all the Members except Senators Devlin, Gorton, Grant, Maher, O’Sullivan and Wood.
