1. Meeting of Senate.—The Senate met at three p.m., pursuant to adjournment.—The President (Senator the Honorable Gordon Brown) took the Chair.

4. P aper.—The following Paper was presented, pursuant to Statute— Commonwealth Public Service Act—Appointment—Repatriation Department—Μ. E. Grutzner.

5. Communist P arty D issolution Bill 1950.—Order of the Day read for the adjourned debate on the Question—That the Bill be now read a second time. Debate resumed. Senator McCallum moved—That the document quoted from by Senator Sandford during his speech

be laid upon the Table. Question—put. The Senate divided— Ayes, 20.
