OF THE SENATE.

THURSDAY, 24th SEPTEMBER, 1942.

1. Meeting of Senate.—The Senate met nt. half-past two p.m., pursuant to adjournment.

2. PRAYERS. .

3. Paver.—The following Paper was presented, by command of His Excellency the Governor-General— Sugar—International Agreement—Operative clauses o! Protocol signed in London, 22nd •July, 1942.

4. Questions.—Questions on notice were answered.

5. Estimates anu Budget-Papers 1942-43.—Order of the Bay read for the adjourned debate on the motion by the Minister for Trade and Customs (Senator Keane), viz.—That the Papers be printed. Debate resumed. On the motion of Senator McBride the debate was adjourned. Ordered—That the resumption of the debate be an Order of the Day for the next day of sitting.

b. Next Meeting of the Senate.—The Minister for the Interior (Senator Collings) moved—That the Senate, at its rising, adjourn till to-morrow at half-past ten a.m. Question—put and passed.

7. Adjournment.—The Minister for the Interior (Senator Collings) moved—That the Senate do now adjourn. Debate ensued. Question—put and passed. The Senate adjourned at four minutes to eleven p.m. till to-morrow at half-past, ten a.m.

S. Attendance.—Present, all the Members except Senator Wilson.
