A Proposed Law intituled “ Judiciary (Diplomatic Representation) Act 1942 ”, as finally passed by the Senate and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth, having been presented to the Governor-General for the Royal Assent, His Excellency has, in the name and on behalf of His Majesty, assented to the said Law.

4. War E xpenditure—J oint Committee—F ourth Progress R eport.—Senator A. J. McLachlan brought up the Fourth Progress Report from the Joint Committee on War Expenditure. Ordered to be printed.
3. Gold-mining I ndustry—Statement.—Senator Allan MacDonald, by leave, made a statement relating to man-power difficulties in the Gold-mining industry. The Minister for the Interior (Senator Ceilings) also, by leave, made a statement on the subject.

9. National Security (Employment of Women) R egulations—Motion for Disallowance.—Senator McLeay, pursuant to notice, moved—That the National Security (Employment of Women) Regulations under the National Security Act 1939-1940, made by Statutory Rules 1942, No. 146, be disallowed. Debate ensued.
And two hours having elapsed from the time fixed for the meeting of the Senate, the Order of the Day was called on. Postponement of Order of the Day.—Ordered—That the consideration of the Order of the Day be postponed until after the disposal of Business of the Senate, Notices of Motions Nos. 1 and 2.
